Warbirds and vacation, a good way to start

Thu Mar 14, 2013 9:02 pm

I started vacation this morning. Of course each day this week leading up to it seemed incredibly long. But.... Monday I am outside and I look out towards one of the active runways in the same way that a dog looks out the window when he wants to be playing oustide. And I see a B-17 on roll out just after landing! It turns out to be the Memphis Belle movie B-17 which I had not seen before. Cool! On the way home I stop by the FBO and take a few shots, but am very short on time so I do not walk out on the ramp. Still cool.

She was on her way to Tucson and who knows, I might catch up with her in California next week.

Today is my first day of vacation. I am getting ready to head over to War Eagles and check Face Book to see whats shaking and notice a friend has posted that a P-51 has filed a fligtplan for Santa Teresa. Way cool! I grab something to eat, head over to 5T6 and about 15 minutes after I get ther here comes "The Rebel", a Mustang I had not seen in some time and she has been repainted since I last saw her.

I got to see two neat airplanes and test out my new zoom. Great way to start vacation!

It's always nice to be free of the leash! I was going to say "enjoy vacation", but it looks like you already have that well under control.
