Hmmmm, it appears we have a headless man stuck in the airplane. No wait, that is Tim trying to finish cleaning up in the wheel well. If there are any ladies reading this, Too Tall Tim is a great hand at house keeping and he does do windows. And if you don't have a window, he is also a handy dandy carpenter. He is for rent or sale. We will all make sacrifices to get our airplanes flying so that's why we are making this rare offer. Uh, maybe you should contact Dana first to make the deal because Tim doesn't know he is taking one for the team. I forgot to tell him this afternoon. :-) JR

Larry took inventory today of our panel instruments to see which are correct and which need replacing. We found, as earlier reported, brand new fuel gauges. Seems we may need some others. In comparing the original to the replacement tachometer, I think I like the replacement because it has a sync wheel on it so it is easier to see if the props are out of sync. With all the noise plus noise cancelling headsets, we may not be exact by sound alone. Might opt to keep that one as is. Larry and the other avionics guys are still working on the avionics package plan. Hope to have that figured out soon. We need to start wiring and installing something soon. JR

The real JR and Clennis tore into the big box of engine parts we got from CA and started sorting them out on the puter to place in the new conex storage drawers we got a month or so ago. JR has been in touch with Anderson Aeromotive about our engine overhauls. Hope to get that started as soon as we have the challenge matching donations money from the A-26 Legacy Foundation, our sister organization on the East coast. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, go to their website and you can click on the donate button for PayPal or credit card if you like. The other option is to mail a check to Don Vogler, Chairman of the Foundation at the address shown on the website. His dad flew A-26's in the unpleasantness in Southeast Asia and his airplane is now preserved at an air museum in S. Korea. "Mighty Mouse" was one of the few aircraft to carry a name on the nacelle. There are some great stories about the Nimrods there, past and present. http://www.a-26legacy.org Help us out, please! Every dollar donated will be matched. Make a difference in saving a national treasure. Thanks, JR

Texas Fire Ants for sale!! Cheap. $5 per box. Told you we are really trying to raise money for the engine overhauls. Ok, just kidding about the Fire Ants. They are free for the taking. You can have all you want. Little known fact is that they like to eat termites so they could solve your problems. See? Anyway, just thought this shot of the walnut shells the guys were using today was interesting. Tim, David and Big Mike really hit a hard lick on getting the wheel well blasted. Merci Boocoos! JR

Dust was a flyin today! This is Texan meaning that a lot of hard work was getting done in those pesky multi layers of paint in the right wheel well. They finally succumbed to the gentle persuasion, but it was harder than trying to rope a steer. Well, for you city slickers, that would be harder than trying to find a parkin place in downtown NYC. Now that's hard. Actually, my impression is that the really hard part is finding your car still in the same spot you left it when you get back??? :-) JR

So what does this great team have for breakfast? Well, let's see, breakfast burritos for openers. C'mon, its Texas. Then some yogurt and fruit of various kinds. Just trying to be a little more heart healthy. The cookies, well, have to have some green this close to St Patrick's Day, yes? Mom always said I had to eat my greens so there you go. Just following orders! Yes, indeedy! JR

While we were in such a good mood today, (it reached well over 80 degrees and Spring has sprung!) we helped out our neighbors across the hangar with the cowling on the CAF A-26. As rare as an A-26 might be, it is awesome that we have two in the same hangar and at least three in the same area!! :-) JR

We are also running a sale, 50% off, on David A. Here he is, ladies, using the air hose to make those mean ol dust bunnies hit the road. David is low mileage and still has all of his teeth. He can run marathons, so there is a lot of stamina there! He is also a top notch electrician so there is no doubt he can put some electricity back in your lines if they have slowed down lately. Let the bidding begin. Contact Dana at the previously cited contact numbers as I think I forgot to tell David that he was joining Tim on the auction block!! But they are both team players. I am sure they won't mind. We gotta get those R-2800's purring like kittens again... well, maybe more like roaring like lions?? It's a long road to Idaho. JR

One last look in the right wheel well. Next time you see it, will be all pretty and green. Not veggie green, btw. Just green like the other side. We will have matching sets that way, just in case there are other fashion critics out there! :-) JR

uh hmmmm, it appears you failed to notice that you were responding to our breakfast menu and not our lunch menu?? So who is silly now, Duck Drivin Lady? HUH? But anyway, we did have "greens" for lunch. More greeeeeen cookies and sweet tea to wash them down. Hmmmmm, good!! But now back to the challenge... time to put up or shut up.... you fix lunch for us and I will even pay for it. But if the guys vote that they would rather have my stuff vrs yours... you eat crow!! :-) LOL Ball is in your court!! Your turn..... JR, the chef.
