Nice article from Sunday's Virginia Pilot (local newspaper) on the Mossie. A few pictures as well.

Great photos. I have followed this project since the beginning of its restoration and used to visit the Avspecs team often to check out the progress. So it's great to see KA114 is finally at its final destination. Not long now and it will be thrilling US crowds, which is pretty neat. KA114 was really something when it was flying here, it went beyond the normal warbird sphere, the general media picked up on it bigtime and the general public took a huge interest - it attracted many more people to airshows than you'd normally get, and people not normally interested in aeroplanes were actually talking about it I found. A real centrepiece of the 2012-13 display season here in NZ. So I hope it makes a similar impact with the US public.

thanks for posting that ed, we also had a guy doing video for the ww2 airshow special they run every yr on one of the local tv stations. its pretty neat to look at alot of the detail that not everyone will get to see and i feel very fortunate to be a part in this project. as it stands i will be assisting the guys from avspecs in putting it back together in the coming weeks and will be apart of the crew to keep it in the air after they leave. i can get pictures of our progress if anyone wants.. as long as i dont put people to sleep with more photos of it going together for a second time.

I think you're unlikely to put anyone to sleep with pics of this project Jon!! I saw her through the windows Saturday - felt like a kid looking through the window of a toy store! More is better!!

The "Mosquito Roll Out Today" thread that covered the final stages of the restoration and then the first flight of the Mossie on my Wings Over New Zealand Forum was the biggest and most watched thread ever! And it's still going even now with news and photos, etc. And that was being read all over the world. So this thread will be popular.

Any new pictures or updates on the Mosquito? Keeping my fingers crossed she will fly at the show in May.

Andy and Russ have arrived there so the re-assembly must have begun by now.

We moved the fuselage and wing into position friday so we can start on it first thing monday. yes they were due in saturday, but wanted to give them time to adjust for jetlag. we have a local tv station with a camera set up to get a picture once every 10 secs of the assembly for a tv spot they have every yr for our airshow.. so it should be like a 7min video of us putting it together once its complete.
