Many years ago there was a pic in a British newspaper of 2 A-26's next to each other in Angola. They were sat in the bush complete with the undergrowth/grass 6ft+ high around them, but..........................................had been shot up with small arms all over, not a panel was left that wasn't full of holes.

Slightly OT, but upon landing at KILM recently, I noticed the A-26 "Spirit of North Carolina" sitting on the ramp. A local told me it is based there. Anyone want to start a thread on that bird?

Hi, the photos shown on this topic actually come from my site at http://vectaris.net/id817.html.
I acquired them a while ago along with original news paper article so I dont know where the SDASM archive comes into it.
I contacted Illinois DEA and they certified the shot and actually requested I send the a copy for their archive.
As you can see by the way the cuttings are askew, that is how I scanned the original.
The aircraft was actually intercepted so the apprehension of the pilot could be undertaken and a ruse in the form of an arrest warrent for the aircraft was actuated by fabricating bogus charges relating to a lack of export paperwork for the aircraft.

I believe the archives I frequent have thousands of photos I would assume are copies of copies from who knows where they came from. I can assure you I didn't find them on your site and am not denying they are yours at all, but if you wish I can certainly take them down. I never take credit for what is not mine and give credit when possible if possible.

Sincere apologies, this is sometimes the risk I take when posting photos.

Hey buddy, there is no problem with keeping the shots on this forum, I have not taken offence but just wanted to clarify the issue.
I spend a ridiculous amount of money every year on photos and data, not just for my own pleasure but for other guys out there who have a passion for the A-26.
ALL the photos on my site are for use by who ever wants to add them to their archive.
After all its just a hobby and I just want people who love this particular aeroplane to have access to photos not generally available.

Thanks Martin, I appreciate the kind reply, I have the same attitude towards posting photos. Not in it for anything other than to share some neat stuff with like minded folks who appreciate seeing these old photos. Much to share and much to learn. No more, no less and I'm always happy to give the proper credit and get the proper permission if at all possible.
