You really know how to make friends in the warbird community  :P I do know at least one of the O-2s there was "real" military (not mine). And I will put the combat history on mine up for your inspection any time.......and it has a funny paint scheme which not many novices understand. However, it happens to be accurate for a 23 TASS Nail "Night Bird" that it was.

yeah where was your O-2? You have the black one with the duck nose art right? Actually is the coolest O-2 paint job I have seen. There used to be another gray O-2 with a duck on it also that would fly with it at TICO - haven't seen it in a couple years - I remember it having engine trouble one year at TICO and had to come back in.

There are too many comments now as I think I pissed off a lot of people. I apologize to the L bird, O-2, Chipmunk people on here. Its my personal opinion that I find aircraft with P, F, C and B prefixes more appealing than L, O, T and U prefixes. All of their aircraft served their purpose. I was venting about my disappointment of only 4 Mustangs showing up, only 2 bombers etc showing up.

There is a black O-2 that is based in FL; that owner also had a gray one. So either of those may be the ones you saw in the past. I was not at SnF and have never been there. Mine is black but without any nose art.

Your personal opinion is yours and no one can judge that. However, while you were judging the lack of your preferred aircraft, it is not prudent or appreciated that you disparage other warbirds with inaccurate claims of the lack of provenance. You might remember how much effort it takes us to maintain these aircraft and to get them to shows so the public might enjoy them...whether they be a Mustang, a bomber or a L-4.

Your apology is appreciated though.

I saw way down south so I figured you might be the owner of "Midnight Duck". I saw it at a little grass strip in Charlotte County a few miles east of Punta Gorda. I haven't seen any other all black O-2s.
