At one point several years ago, there was some semi serious talk in the STORMBIRDS hangar about maybe a BV-141

Maybe an Arado Ar 234 would be a good idea.... I surely would appreciate it.

That got kicked around very briefly too, including looking into recovering the one used as landfill @ NAS Pax River for patterns.

Would there really be a market for some of these exotic replicas, bearing in mind they've had a real hard job selling even the much more well-known types such as 262s?

Went out to Glendale airport today to have a look a the 262 but, alas, it was nowhere to be found. Rumour has it that it went US at Deer Valley and never made it to Glendale. Anybody know if it is still at DV and, if so, can it be viewed?

the 262 never made it to Glendale, it had a brake problem and was flown to Marana from Deervalley.

Actually, it didn't make it to Deer Valley either. They flew it from Scottsdale to Marana Regional. It should be on display there (and available for flights if you have $4500 and are a pilot with at least a 3rd class medical) Saturday and Sunday.

Ah well, maybe next time. They could make it up to me by taking it to Chino in a couple of weeks!
My camera is woefully inadequate for shooting pictures of anything in motion but I will share a couple of "Witchcraft" leaving Glendale this afternoon anyway. The Mustang was too much for my camera to handle.

Was not really a problem, just needed to replace the brake pucks from normal wear. They do not last long when landing at the speeds that the Me-262 lands at. It was thought that it was something that could be done easily, but realized that we needed a better equipped shop to do it. There are components of the brakes that are from the early A-4's, so Marana was the logical place to take it.
