According to stories that appeared yesterday (April 23, 2013), a John Woo directed project about the AVG has secured financing and will begin shooting in China early next year (2014). The current plan is for the finished version to be released as a two-part theatrical film for Chinese audiences and as a 6 part mini-series internationally ...

This is apparently different from the competing "Tigers" television effort under development from executive producers Collin Calendar and Ron Shelton with "Rome" co-creator Bill MacDonald that would possibly shoot in Louisiana and China later this year (2013). Great news on all fronts! Considering the Chinese reviere the Tigers and have built a large museum in their honor I am surprised it has taken this long.
