I was able to get these at the recent Doolittle Raiders Reunion in Florida. Three of the B-25s were giving rides from Tuesday thru Sunday, each did at least 11.

On Tuesday evening Special Delivery flew to Eglin AB and put in the Saylor Hanger with an F-35 for the hanger's

I know the reunion was headlined as being in Ft. Walton....but were the planes staged out of Destin? I saw a live report on FOX that was captioned as Destin...just curious.

Yes, all four of the 25s were in Destin, except for the Tuesday night stay at Eglin for Special Delivery. Most of the events (luncheons, dinners, the parade, autograpg signings, etc. ) were at Ft. Walton Beach. The Raiders (at least Mr. Cole) were at Destin Tuesday for a media/photo flight. All three were there Friday and Saturday mornings for photos and for a video dcoumentary of the reunion.

Was the bottle opening just for the raiders in private, pr did the public get to witness it? Sad that there will be no more reunions....

There was no bottle opening at this reunion. I heard that there would be a private get together in November and the bottle would be opened then. I have no idea if that is true or not.

The 1896 Hennesy Special Reserve (year Doolittle was born) will be uncorked IN PRIVATE later this year by the surviving raiders at a time and place to be announced. This was the last PUBLIC reunion of the Doolittle Tokyo Raiders but their FINAL TOAST from this very special bottle will be done according to promises made to the USAF long ago. When the Raiders are ready to announce this ceremony, it will be made public. This will NOT be done in public. It will be a very solemn ceremony for the surviving Raiders and will be held privately with only the surviving Raiders present......... as the plan has always been.
