Heard that AAM/AMPHA was getting a PBY for their Museum at Farmingdale. Anyone know more?

That would be great!
I wonder if its coming from the Elmire area?
(I don't know anything about this, just a guess. But if a B-17 no longer fits their mission, I can't see how a PBY would)

Tim,
We seem to be thinking alike...as that was my first thought...

Guesses confrimed!
The PBY at the NWM (Wings of Discovery) in Elmira, NY, WILL be going to the Airpower Museum on Long Island. Deal signed three days ago.
It'll be some time before it moves. 10+ years of none-flying and neglect will take a lot of work to fix. At least it was inside.
Sounds like they may be selling to store out there....everyone get in line and take a number!

They should part with their R4D as well. When they took "Warplane" out of the museum name I knew it was headed in the wrong direction. My notion was confirmed when they put the jet powered pickup truck in the Wings of Eagles airshow. It would be nice to see the PBY (and Fuddy Duddy) in the air again.

Wondering if anyone has heard anything more about this. I remember when the NWM was still flying this airplane and would love to see it flying once again.
