KVTA F-4C Phase II Underway - Rick: need a nuke arm switch??

In preparation for the Newark/Heath Memorial Day event that is being hosted at what is starting to become known as the F-4 Park, we held a external cleaning day as well as opened up the front cockpit.

We cleaned out the front cockpit area and will do paint touch ups when it gets a bit warmer. In addition to the exterior lighting at night, we are purchasing some solar-powered lights (aka lawn + garden variety) that will also light up the interior.

Rick H: here is a good one for you. While checking the interior I noticed a switch on the lower left of the front panel. It read something like "Nuclear Ordnance - Safe/Arm". I gave the switch a toggle to Arm and the good news is that Ohio is not in the midst of a nuclear winter Anyway, I have to go look in some of the F-4 reference books we have as I have never seen such a thing...one of my colleagues took a pic of it and will forward/post upon receipt.

I'm glad to hear that you have escaped a nuclear holocaust. Check the CB's and check tighten all the plugs THEN give it a go!
I have an F-4 question. What hydraulic oil did the American aircraft use? The RAF aircraft used DTD585 (OM-15) did the American's use LD-4 (Skydrol)?

Regrets I can't answer this...our static F-4 has no engines and no fluids!

The F-4 uses MIL-H-5606 hyd fluid. In the early '90's I remember them converting to the newer higher flashpoint fluid, but can't remember the designation for it.
