Here is a photo of my Ki-43 Oscar..after a few months of being the "Hangar Queen".....due to a bad batch of of clear topcoat,(long story) and after repairing and repainting the upper wing.she finally appears to be airworthy again, despite not having engine run-up yet..as aparent of the lack of exhaust stains !.......ooops.

Abbott,

Looking good! must be 1:48.

I like that scheme. Do you have a link to a reference photo?

Thanks for sharing.

Ron

Thanks Ron !......Not much reference that I have on this particular unit as far as pictures go. The unit is the 50th Sentai. Most of the photos I found were of the Ki-43 I early versions, which were more plentiful. This is the Ki-43 II, which I found only about 2 pictures of (and poor quality at that !), in the Shiffer book of the Ki-43 Hayabusa, by Richard Buechel. Other than that, I relied on the kit instructions of the Fine Molds Ki-43 FA-9 and also the Aeromaster Sheet 48-011, now out of production. There may be more info. on this unit, but this is all I used. A good place to find out about Japanese subjects is J.aircraft.com if your not familiar with it.

Abbott,

Thanks for those leads. Maybe I will be inspired to build an Oscar.

I live in Oregon and am waiting for Jack Erickson to get his Oscar. I plan to run up to his museum in Tillamook after it comes in.

Thanks again.

Ron
