A person is looking for ID of this section on a B-24 which was shot down, and this was found in his grandmother's barn recently. I am no expert, but it looks to me like upper fuselage skin where the radio-compass " football " attached, and behind it, another antenna. He says it is about 60 inches long by 55 inches wide.
Does anyone have good pics of this area of a B-24 to see if I am on the right track, or if I am wrong, tell us what/where this might be from on a B-24 ?

That sure looks like rusty steel. Did they use steel on a B24?

I don't think that part is off a 24. Certainly not around the adf football mount. The part does look like it had some shape in it before the bulldozer ran over it.
