Boy, I for one am so grateful that you are so well-versed in how the process works that you are able to enlighten us all with your criticism of EAA's efforts to protect GA. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I knew I'd get this result. I had this person look at this thread a moment ago. Much laughter ensued. I got this back in an e-mail a moment ago:
"We get that all the time. I gave up explaining this to people years ago because everyone wants to believe an internet chain letter gets something done."
Fill out the poll if you want. If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside, then maybe it was worth it on a personal level...

Hmmm!!! well that's interesting. You and your 'friend' sound quite pessimistic about the matter. It would be interesting to have a chat with him/her and really try to feel out their thoughts. I wonder how he/she comes up with such a convincing result when he/she is only one of many. Shame really to dash the hopes of people who simply care and are trying to help GA anyway they can. Oh well at least in this free country people are still free to think the way they wish ... for now anyway.

Dan Is there anyway I can rescind my petition, after all it's a lost cause according to p51 and his 'friend'

Much laughter ensued

Or maybe I'll keep my petition filed with the possibility there may be a "who gets the last laugh" moment.

(Oh dear...)

Well, Mark et al:

I was the one who started this thread. So, first I'll apologize for getting folks worked into a lather. It certainly wasn't my intention.

Deep down, we WIXers are all on the same side. I've never been a "he-who-laugh's-last" or "I-told-you-so" kind of person, and I don't see much sense in becoming one now.

Since the deadline for signing this petition has passed, I'm now progressing directly to stage two:

a) Mix favorite cocktail

b) Wait for outcome of bipartisan letter to FAA, and then...

c) Rejoice over the FAA user fee being defeated, or...

d) Rejoice over being wiser concerning the uselessness of online petition signing

e) Repeat step a) as required

Ciao! :drinkers:

Ha! Dan not to worry about lathering up me (that doesn't sound right  ) as a good bit of 'difference of opinion' is healthy as long as it's civil and Mr. p51 handles it quite well I must say, he feels his way and a few of us feel our way and that's healthy for the mind. At least we're not chatting about Ebay lol

And I never get the last laugh anyway as I always seem to be the last to be laughed at ... ... and sorry, my cocktail days are far behind me. But cheers mate anyway. :drink3:

In all seriousness let's hope for a positive result concerning your threads cause. It seems well worth the effort IMHO.

Strange how the email campaign, which according to those in the know of how useless these types of things really are, stirred up some bipartisan action from 28 senators.

It's nice to see you're not bitter about it, Zack. :axe:

Anyway, it's all in Reichsmarschall Huerta's hands now.

Back to our miserable lives until next week. WIX peasantry should dust off torches and pitchforks just in case... pop2

Sorry Dan, and perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh with Lee, but other than hypocrites, nothing aggravates me more than when people sit on the fence and criticize the work that others are trying to do. It really "grinds my gears" so to speak. Constructive criticism is one thing and has its useful place, but outright negative criticism about someone or group's efforts to do good pisses me off. This topic is an important one that could have repercussions throughout all of aviation. If people think that this is just EAA's problem, think again. This could open the door to user fees for EVERYTHING we do in aviation. I'll step off my soapbox now. Apologies to Lee for the personal attack and sarcasm.

Zack
