I shudder to think what might have happened had something like this decided to roll up to that massive glass front of the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum!
Tornadoes in this part of the country are thankfully quite rare.

Evergreen helicopters has nothing to do with the 747, as far as i know. here is more info on this monster fire fighter.

John, EHI is part of Evergreen International Airlines, which is the parent company that operates the SuperTanker.

The problem Evergreen was having is multi-layered. Between the massive reduction of DoD contracts in recent years, the loss of the Boeing contract to run the LCFs to Atlas in 2010 (after Evergreen had sunk a HUGE amount of investment capital into setting up and supporting the initial operations which it was not given the chance to recover through operation of the aircraft over the original 5 year contract that was cancelled early by Boeing), and the loss of several of their major contractors for supplimental and peak cargo capacity, the company has been back-and-forth between being solvent and on the edge of collapse.

It's really sad to see for two very storied companies, but it seems that we're going to see a few more like this in the next couple of years as the economy continues to struggle worldwide.
