Before you take that machine apart...

Can you put it back together?

My wife picked up a 20qt Hobart Mixer for our bakery last week. She told me that first gear sounded a bit rough but that was normal for the mixers she has worked with in the past. But it sounded bad.

Last night with the help of my Father-in-law we took it apart to see what the problem was. To make a long story short, someone had taken it apart before and it was very clear they had no idea how to put it back together. After about 2 hours we had it back together working like a song. It’s a beautiful thing when you can get something for about ½ price because someone doesn’t have a clue. I wish she had worked on getting it cheaper, I bet we could have gotten it down another $100 or more.

The pictures where taken before we fixed it. Can you spot one error in assembly?
