The Race is On and the Clock is ticking
37 days to the
Starfighter Roll Out!

August 17th the Alberta Aviation Museum’s “New Look” and “Starfighter” will be presented to the public in a major “Ribbon cutting/Roll Out event” beginning at 10am with events/festivities through the day and into the evening.

Almost (9) years since the start of Project Starfighter began this part of the Canadian, Albertan and Edmonton history is returning to the public.

After (7) years of searching for the right Starfighter and thanks to Edmontonians, fellow Canadians and particularly the family of “Don Hamilton” as well as AirSpray this project has come to life.

Since the Starfighter’s arrival March 29th the Alberta Aviation Museum has been full throttle on what is one of the fastest restorations ever done by the Museum and its team.

August 17th will also be the unveiling of the “New Look” of the Alberta Aviation Museum. In conjunction with the Starfighter project the Museum has been revising its exhibits, changing the layout of the main display floor and changing up the visitor services area with the addition of entry/exit and images.

While much work has been done this now becomes a race against the calendar as the Starfighter is still being painted and assembled. In Edmonton’s version of a reality show the Starfighter team is now working against the clock to make the “Roll Out” date as is the rest of the team at the Alberta Aviation Museum in order to make our “New Look” and feel ready for the August 17th ceremonies.

Event details to follow.
