any question you have, why don´t you better call Mr. Cor. San Martin, the director of the museum?

FAH 609 Folks/J973:

Good day!

On July 17, 2013 F4U-5N Buno 124715 will be celebrating the 44th anniversary of a pivotal combat moment over the Salvadorean skies when a young FAH pilot named Capt. Fernando Soto Enriquez (RIP) managed to shot down 3 enemy aircraft in a single day!

In case you did not know it, .. that was the end of combat activities for the fellows across the border. FAS has no qualified pilots to fly either Cavalier F-51 Mustangs or any of the surviving FAS FG-1ds.

Ever since that date, FAH 609 has been considered an icon in the F4U Corsair world. Right next to it you would hear the silent walk-around made in spirit by its former PIC. (pilot in command)! Capt Fernando Soto Enriquez... making sure that all is quiet at the front! Drawing EP Cabo/Rudy007. Tks

Id consider pappy boyington, Tom Blackburn, ira kepford, ken Walsh, guy bordelon, Archie Donahue, icons in the corsair first in my book. Very nice print that was made though, it will go nicely with the 609.

My thoughts exactly. Those muzzles look menacing just sitting there - I can't imagine what it would look like when they were firing! 8)

I had already found and posted this video in another WIX thread. There's an additional FAH 609 video in the post and if you're really interested in the subject, you can take the time to read the whole 10-page discussion.
