Wanted - 1000th North American Aviation Harvard Photo

Thu Jul 25, 2013 5:57 am

According to articles in NZ newspapers in April 1941, New Zealander Honourable Air Commodore Albert Marsden was photographed giving two thumbs up in front of the 1000th Harvard trainer being built for the Air Ministry, when it rolled off the NAA production line in Southern California.

Does anyone have a copy of this photo please?

Marsden was the Chief Inspector for Aircraft Production covering all aircraft built in the USA and Canada for the British Air Ministry. A very important role indeed. After the war he lived and died here in Cambridge, New Zealand. I'm trying to piece together his story for my website. What I have found so far is here:

I'd love to find a copy of that Harvard photo if it's still extant out there somewhere. Or any photos of him for that matter.
