Tell me about the Hellcat

I want to learn about this plane but there is limited information. I came across what is supposedly a rare auto-pilot system for a hellcat that was created right after the war to automate these planes. I have the thing in its original military packaging with the installation tools and the supply requisition slip. I had the part identified by a man who works an aviation museum in Seattle. He couldn't legally tell me if it was worth anything.
