Exactly! Like what's the point of saving WWII warships, or even Nelson's flagship, if they don't sail? What's the point of saving 19th century covered wagons if horses don't still drag them around?

Maybe, if the plane survives 200 years, the point will be clear.

Certainly the one who pays the bills has the final say in the matter.

But I can't shake the feeling that the rebuilders at Victoria Air will be denied a certain level of recognition that's due them (Gold/Silver Wrench at OSH; does Reno give an award to restorers?).

Being restored and on static display is better than being unrestored or not here at all. They've done outstanding work so far. Can't wait to see pics when it's completed.
