This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Greg Shelton's if Im not mistaken. I like the "new" tramp stamp on the B-24. Far less invasive and noticeable! Boy does she look good.

I agree, the B-24 is looking good. I just love the greenhouse nose on the early B-24's as opposed to the turret that came along later.

I noticed the plaque's (listing the donors that helped buy the guns, etc) were gone from Lil at OshKosh. Does anyone know if Kilroy is still on top of the horizontal?

I know, I was hoping to show the one with my name to my Father in Law and my youngest son when we took the tour...

Didn't someone from CAF post here a couple of years ago that those had been stolen?

The work done by Gary and the related topic here will stay one of the more beautiful story about warbirds restoration. (I discovered so many things simply ready his posts.)
Sad to heard that a link between this board and this plane is gone and with it a visible sign of the work done by Gary on this plane but also in promoting the warbirds in general.
Somebody knows if these plaques were stolen or removed by the CAF ?

I would doubt stolen. Probably removed. If that is the case. Let's hope not...
I really do hope they install a Bombay in her soon. Then she would REALLY be a B-24 again. I know I know, big cost. But the squadron should try and start an account for this modification in particular.

Beautiful pictures! I was lucky enough to engineer "FIFI" for the entire Denver trip. Everything was great with both airplanes and the airshow was fantastic until the wind picked up on Sunday afternoon.
As for the B-24, y'all really need to quit being such conspiracy theorists about this airplane, Gary Austin and the CAF. Gary has not been forgotten and will not be forgotten. Kilroy is still on the tail and will remain there, at least until the entire airplane gets repainted way in the future. The name plates are missing from some of the guns, maybe even all of them. The glue that held them on didn't last through the heat and a couple fell off and have been lost. Some have probably disappeared due to sticky fingers and I do think that is what happened to at least one. Nothing was pried off and thrown away by anybody in the CAF to spite wix or Gary or anything nefarious like that. Several of us that actually knew Gary in real life talked about him at length this weekend. Many people who had no idea he ever existed know of him now because of our conversations.
Yes the Wildcat belongs to Greg. He is also one of the copilots on the B-29.

Great pics, thanks for posting.
I am hoping that huge flag on the side doesn't last long.

The flag is authentic and will be staying.
