Authentic, thats a different story, but personally I'd still be tempted to do away with it ,,, Looks too distracting & gaudy.
To each their own, only opinion that really counts is whoever owns it.

And it seems to get a bit more authentic looking as time goes on ... from the way it used to look anyway. Outstanding looking machine no matter what the scheme. You could certainly tend to miss that Austin fellow every time you see this airplane flying.

Speaking for one that crews on Diamond Lil I do have take a few moments each day to think about what Gary did for the plane and the entire CAF. I was very happy when the decision was made to put the flag on the airplane, and the crowds at the airshows love it! I was very fortunate over the last couple of weeks to have met several individuals that knew Gary well, and it was at times hard talking with them, because it made me miss Gary all the more.

As for the plaques, I do know for a fact that they were NOT removed by the CAF. I also know that several are still intact, because I look at the one on top of the Tunnel Gun (I believe that is Taylor's) every time it is installed.

I just got back from two weeks with Lil and she is flying very well and looking good for a 72 year old woman!
