Tonopah, NV airport

Stopped by on my way back from Reno this year to check out the old hangers. The Pic of the wing in the hanger
I was told by the FBO attendant it was from a Bamboo Bomber. Neat place. Poor hangers are looking really
sad :(

Bamboo wing.

The same hanger back in the good ole days.

Typical A.A.F wide ramp.

Lots of wide open space!

One of the two remaining larger hangers.

Not sure how many of the large hangers where here. This is the rear of the P-39 hanger.

I didn't bother going down to the third hanger figuring it might be on private property.

While going thru town I found this neat mural on the back of one of the buildings.

They seem to appreciate their aviation heritage judging by the mural.

You didn't happen to see a C-170 there, did you?

I visited an old college buddy in Tonopah on 9-13 and found out that he owns one and keeps it there.

I'd concur that the wing came from a UC-78. Makes you wonder where the rest of the plane is.
