Emergency crews say a pilot appears to have suffered non life-threatening injuries after a fighter jet ran off the runway at Reno Stead Airport.
Reno Fire Department officials tell us they believe the MiG 21 Russian fighter jet experienced brake failure upon landing around 9:15am Friday. The jet continued on until it landed in some nearby brush in ravine. Crews secured the ejection seat with the help from mechanics, and then helped the pilot out of the aircraft.
He was taken to an area hospital by ambulance.
Fire crews remain on scene to make the plane and nearby brush do not catch fire.
The FAA is responding to the scene.
