It would be the first acquisition in the: Korean War Air Museum

Then I'd pop over to Platinum Fighter Sales and grab that F-84 and F9Fs.

I like all the detail photos on Courtesy's webpage. It gives the casuals like me who will never be able to afford a Mustang a chance to get a complete walk-around of all the details. I'm amazed by the level of authenticity of this restoration. Easy to see why it was an award-winner at Oshkosh. I hope the new owner keeps the paint scheme! It's definitely unique.

And if you like your Mustang with a little more "flair", remember that Strega's available! 8)

There isn't a whole lot you can do with Strega... For the asking you can buy a NICE stock Mustang. I don't see it selling easily...

Why pay $3 million for this one, when I can have two regular ones for the same price? After all, who doesn't need two Mustangs? I know I do.

Now if only i could remember where I stashed that 3 mil...

For three million you cold get a nice, stock Mustang plus an AT-6 and spend a lot of hours in the AT-6, prepping for the Mustang. Maybe even throw a Stearman into the mix.

For 3 million you could invest in several nice pieces of commercial real estate (I know exactly what and where) remodel and upgrade them and at least double your investment in a year or two. But sorry I can't tell you more because that's exactly what I'm doing at the moment. On those lines anyway

Invest in Warbirds? I'll just state Hmmm! Purchase one (or a few) if you have an infinite amount of disposable cash? Sure why not! It's your money.

Now after reading what I just wrote, I sound negative and pessimistic ... to the contrary, just a bit realistic perhaps? lol

Now lets see what kind of sh*tstorm I just created lolol

You'd think for $3M that they'd throw in the gunsight...

Have T-6. Need Mustang. Need 3 million dollars.

Nope. Warbirds are best investment. What kinda range do you have on that building? How many shows you gonna make with that building next year? I rest my case.

You sure do (sound negative and pessimistic ). Thing is, I never said *invest* in warbords. Never used those words. I simply said for 3 mill you can have a stock 51 and an AT-6. And the implication was that a lot of us would have to spend a lot of time in a T-6 to get ready for a 51.

More like realistic, but that's just me as I've been around a while
I'm also a private pilot and simply renting simple GA airplanes is quite a bit these days.

Wasn't referring to your remarks specifically, just a general personal opinion on my part. I'll quote you (like I am now) if I'm referring to you or anyone directly. You can count on that, as I at least find that a sign of respect.

+1 as I completely agree with your statement there.

If there's any real money to be made in the warbird industry it's in the restoration of warbirds for other owners. (with deep pockets and an obsession to detail and accuracy) Of course that's another of my own optimistic opinions. And FWIW there are too many threads regarding this particular conversation than you can shake a stick at. Opinions vary on the subject, as they should, but I feel comfortable with my opinion, even though there most likely are several that would disagree ... and that's fine with me. I have no problem with it.
