Wow! What an opportunity! Not very often that a P-38 hits the market. I hope whoever gets it will consistently display it publicly, at a museum or at airshows.

Wow is right.. I was just out there a couple months back...

Anyone know the history of the plane's restoration? engines? when it last flew? Could it be made into a flyer?
I'm sure with enough $$$ that it would somewhere in between $200k and "Glacier Girl" $$'s... :-).

It was airworthy when it left Arizona for Oregon so I imagine it would not take too much work to bring it back to flyable. Sure hope it ends up with somebody who will get her airworthy again.

Somewhere at home I have a picture of Gary Levitz taking off on the ferry flight north....the last time Gary flew a P-38.

Remember seeing this 38 at Biggin Hill years ago. Never in the air though. Glad to see it might be sold off to someone who will let it spread it's wings more often.

Some where I have pictures of it when it was in the storage yard behind Avaition Classics hangar at the Reno/Stead Airport back in the early 80's. I use to crawl all over that P-38 and through the A-26 fuselage they had out in the yard also.
