If you do take pictures of the restoration area, send them here. We would love to where things currently stand, rather than looking at Flickr photos of unknown date.

My understanding is that large portions of the Helldiver have been at Garber being painted (though perhaps they are back by now). Little work done on the Lippische, which still sits as set up many months ago. S-43 and Kikka are under plastic cover as there are sometimes birds pooping in the hanger. Last I heard, Horton wings are there but the fuselage remains at Garber. Any of this might have changed, however. Anyway, we will all be better informed with your photos.

Take a photo of the cut-away R-4360-63a. It's in the engine display area. After entering the building, go down the stairs to the lower level and to then to the right.

Also, just past the R-4360-63a, is a unique radial engine display. It is a single row radial in a plastic case. You can push a button on the lower corner of the display and the engine opens (it's split in half) and begins turning. It is a great disply to show how the internal workings of a radial engine operate; master rod, articulating rods, etc.

Photos of anything and everything would suit me just fine. Regarding the Helldiver, the completeion date for the restoration has been pushed back until mid March. I hope someday in my lifetime active restoration on more than one aircraft at a time there at Udva Hazy will come to fruition.

Yes. Marauderman 26. This is it . Even though the site states it is a -59B, I can't tell from this photo if it really is a -63A or if it is actually a -59B. The easiest way to tell in this photo from this angle, would be by the cylinder exhaust ports. The -63A (used on the C-124) had four studs which secured the exhaust stacks. (The studs would frequently pull out of the cylinder and we had to carry spare oversize studs in our fly-away kit.) While the -59B which was used primarily on the C-97, used a flange with a spring loaded set-up to secure the stacks and they did not have the problem we had on the C-124.
