Which one did he buy?

Quote:
What's that in the sky? It may just be Brad Pitt after the leading man reportedly bagged himself a World War II-era Spitfire plane.

The 49-year-old actor was so inspired by his latest movie, World War II flick "Fury," that he purchased one of the fighter planes used by the Royal Air Force in battle, the Irish Examiner reported. And they don't come cheap: Pitt supposedly paid $3.3 million for the aircraft.

Maybe it's a Christmas present for his pilot wife? One way to get out of a marriage if you want out! :)

Caught sight of Brad doing touch and gos at Republic Airport while Angelina was at the nearby Grumman Bethpage turned movie studio filming SALT.

Wonder if Brad ever got his ticket? Which Spit?

MK912 has been flying out of Biggin Hill for a while now (since 2011 I think).

The only Spitfires I've seen on the market recently are SM969 and MJ730.

The price of 3.3 million reported in the article seems to match up with what they were asking for MJ730 if i recall correctly.

Unfortunately Chris,
I suspect that MJ730 will have to be sold regardless. (Just my suspicion, not based on any other knowledge)

Something that sprung immediately to mind is the potential prospect, of a combat veteran, being operated by someone whos skill set may not be up to the task.
I don't like to spread negativity, however, we have all seen the results of high performance fighters being operated by people with insufficient skills.

I hope that I am wrong.
