Your work and attention to detail are amazing. In terms of size, how does your scale compare to the Revell model of the Pine Island which also has a PBM that comes with it? I still have that model in a box somewhere. It was the last ship model I built. I think I was 13 or 14.

The scale of the Revell USS Pine Island's PBMs is 1/426 scale. So, they are noticeably smaller (but not half (1/700 is half) ) than the 1/350 scale ones that I've used and that you've seen, here.

I did a review of the new re-issue of the Revell USS Pine Island AV-12 kit, here........

CarlMuss your work is incredible.

I was very impressed by that 314 nameplate shown earlier in the post but it may not be real.

This is an ebay auction from an boeing exec that had a lithograph and commerative piece of the 314. As you can see in one of the photos, there was a duplicate plate made for each one. This piece is missing it's duplicate plate, but you can see the area where it would have been, it looks like it was ripped off the paper.

Here is a backup of the image in case the auction gets taken down.

Bumping this thread for the 314, does anyone have any additional details on the recovery project?
