Just doing a little surfing and sadly came across this. The La-9 is for sale and the Yak-3 has already been sold...... have any others from the collection been sold?........ Alan

The La-9 has been for sale for some time... a couple of years I believe. It wasn't able to receive certification in England for some silly reason, which is why it didn't stay there long.

The Yak-3 conversion has been sold, but will stay in N.Z. AFAIK

The LA-9 has been for sale virtually since it took flight nearly three years ago. But I wonder, is it the whole LA-9 for sale or just a share in the syndicate that owns it? That may be why it has not been snapped up by a collector. Maybe it has to stay within NZ?

I believe the whole thing is for sale for around $1 m USD? - not as easily sold as a P51 etc so I suppose you really have to want it?
Had I the money I would snap it up - awsome at Wanaka in 2004 apart from the trim tab glitch which nearly claimed it - you know if you were of a mind you could build a really nice Russian fighter collection from Biplanes to Mig 15 and fairly cheaply too
