Yes, it is indeed a great collection, their armor and militaria collection is also very good. i walked there from the hotel, but the tube goes very close if i remember. Also ( in 2010), they closed for lunch , so be prepared to go to a cafe or similar while the docents are out.
some very rare birds there, the Fairey Battle,Mosquito and Hurricane to name a few.
well worth seeing , i highly recommend it !

I was there a couple years ago. The museum has an excellent collection, all housed in a fantastic old building. If you're ever in Brussels, it's a must see. The transit system in Brussels is efficient and easy to use, and there's a tube/subway/metro/whatever stop very close by. If I recall correctly, the museum hosts a book sale on Saturdays, so you may need to ask someone who works there how to get in (the normal entrance was closed when I came back on a Saturday).

There's also a car museum across from the air museum if you're into that kind of stuff as well.

Worked there a while ago to do some work on their Fouga. Great museum and a truly unique WW1 collection!

Was there in 1988, my first trip across the pond. My jaw hit the floor when I went in and I had to scoop it up after I left.
At that time, you couldn't take photos of anything inside the building.
They also had a WW1 collection which defied description. Oddly, there was next to nothing from WW2 there...

Lots of WW2 stuff there now too!

Excellent museum with one of the best WWI collections in the world, including one of onely two surviving Zeppelin contral cars. Next door is an Army that probably has the best collection of WWI artillery pieces anywhere. And a car museum is next to that.

Yes, it's a nice museum. That remembers me that I didn't pay visit there since 2 years. (I live only 20 miles from there.)

If one day, some of you plan a visit to Belgium and this museum, don't hesitate to contact me (and other Belgian member also) a "micro Wix member reunion" would be fun. (Yes 2 members you gather it's a already a reunion)
