Just received an email from a Toronto Star reporter wanting info about the Toronto airport Connie.
It is apparently being dimanteled and he would like some history and a lead as to current owner and the intentions

The apparent destination for the Toronto Connie is the Museum of Flight in Seattle. They have been negotiating for its purchase since the summer of 2004. Apparently they have now raised the necessary funds to complete the transaction and relocate the aircraft to Seattle. See:

I have head it is to be painted in TCA (forerunner to Air Canada) colours at the Air Canada paint hanger at Pearson before shipment to Seattle.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

A friend just sent this link to me...
http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Conten ... 9483202845

What a joke!!! Can you imagine telling people not to take pictures. I have been there. I could easily stand across the road and snap away with a camera and a good lense!!! On top of that I find aircraft in a semi-dismantled state very interesting.

If anyone is passing through Toronto in the next few days do me a favour, stop and take a picture!

Where do these people come from?

I did! The people working there didnt want me to take pictures in the first place, but after talking with them a couple of minutes they let me take all the pictures i wanted, they even offered me to put a construction helmet and get closer to the plane.
