That's a good request. I've seen some great photo sets in the Library of Congress archives. I'll see what I can dig up.

I like the hat Drew. Only knock on it would be it's too clean. We have a saying on the ranch for cowboys who wear their hats too clean. Don't worry if that's your hat your off the hook though. You earned the right to wear a clean hat. :wink:

when you look at those pics it pops into your head.......... where did the American work ethic go?? just the scope of those pics is staggering. hard to believe that curtiss was so mismanaged during the war, & buried right after. great pics of the kingfisher under construction. 1 of the more rare & obscure birds, & 1 of my favorites, among other long ignored warbirds.

C-87 conversion in progress? Looks like it's had passenger windows installed, a fairing in place of the tail turret and it's been deskinned and its structure cut to install a big side door.

Chuck, you need to check out this book. Lot's of good factory pictures and should lead you in the right direction for finding one.

Notice that just about everyone in the ramp shot of the XB-29 has their 'Boeing gloves' on :lol:

It's a good thing that DODGE got a contract to build 3350's, they figured out a lot of the cooling issues and in return, learned a bit about that hemispherical combustion chamber stuff- :wink:
