The Bible tells me that I am not supposed to envy you. But these photo's are SPECTACULAR....it has always been my fondest wish to go and try my hand at air to air photography. I hope that someday I may live out that wish. Until then...all I can do is offer you my respect and Thanks for posting these.

Thanks alot!!! I would love to leave my regular job and have a cool one taking pictures for some publication. Although I think I still have alot to learn about taking pictures. I have quite a few folders full of pic's that Ive taken over the years. I just didnt think it would be cool, just to start blasting away with pics. I do want to post some of my LSFM Bearcat during the painting process.

Very Cool. With the Corsair pic, my mind instantly went to the WWII story I read regarding the pilot who's machine guns were frozen from the climb to altitude to intercept a Japanese bomber, so he dove his plane and took out the tail & gunner with his prop send the bomber spiralling down.....although the -5 has an extra blade vs. the -1 in the story, this certainly illustrates the view that the tailgunner had during his last moments (his gun was frozen too by the way).

It was an excellent internet story with photos of the damaged Corsair upon its return which I had saved in my favorites, but unfortunately it was in my old computer- I need to start googling it again.

very nice pix... I especially like the corsair head-on. Those clouds underneath are what really make the image stand out. Loved the shot of B-17's taxiing in formation too.

That story about the corsair is covered in the
volume books "Airwar" by Ed Jablonski.
Originally, it was 4 volumes, but the they were also
combined into two for the military book club back
in the early 70's.

I. Terror From the Sky
II. Tragic Victories
III. Outraged Skies
IV. Wings of Fire

If you don't have them, get them off Ebay. Worth the $$$.

If memory serves, the story is in Vol 4.

Great shots - the taxiing Forts reminds me of the take-off sequence in Memphis Belle.

That must have been one helluva sight and sound!!!
