This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Well, you could always shake things up and buy a fighter from Russia. Wouldn't that just bust a few guts?
Like we did in 1960.

Check in on 'Have Donut', 'Constant Peg', and other SHHHH-HHHH projects run by the Air Force-you'd be amazed how many 'other side' airplanes we had in the 60's/early 70's

What was it the A-10 demo announcer always used to say the "abilities" of the aircraft were? I think it was maneuverability, affordability, reliability and survivability. Sorry for the random thought, but it's one of the first things that comes to mind when I think of the A-10. It ain't pretty, but it gets the job done. I don't really understand why they need to be retired unless the maintenance is getting too expensive to justify.

My favourite comment regarding the A-10 has always been,
Ugly,
but well hung!
