Working on a project for the museum and I have been looking for a round cowl between 30in to 36in across. Trying to simulate the nose of a Corsair for a children's exhibit. Can be `glass or tin. Were trying to not build it from scratch. If anyone has any ideas please pass them on.

Look for a Chinese Restaurant supply store in the area. You may be able to find a huge lightweight aluminium stock pot that would work. My daughter picked up one in the "two chicken" range about a year ago and said there were bigger ones available

Check with contractors about scrap chunks of that sort of robins egg blueish plastic drain tile, small diameter hunks work great buried in the flowerbed to 'contain' plants like bamboo that are 'runners'in the yard.

Go to the local home improvement store and look for sheet metal roof vents. You also might look around at trash cans. Some of them have "jet intake" shaped covers that might look OK for your purposes. You might also consider the fiberglass nose bowl from a Kitfox or other light aircraft.
