SUPER BOWL Flyover.

Sun Feb 05, 2006 2:29 pm

The real crime in having the Super Bowl in Detroit is NO FLYOVER !

Now who likes who? I say Steelers 33, Seahawks 19. No one ever chuged a mug of Starbucks, but the do chug Iron City Beer.

They should have the Super Bowl in Detroit in the beginning of August. Then they could have one heck of a flyover! :)

i heard from a sales rep of mine who lives in the burbs of detroit. he told me that the entire area is security wise tighter than hell. coast guard divers are scouring the river bottoms, gun boats cruising the river surface. no fly zones, etc. he said you couldn't find a limo in western ohio if your life depended on it... all in detroit for the big shots. huge corporate parties, nike, micheal jordan, X football stars etc, all throwing them. flea bag hotels charging 300 bucks a night. tickets being sold at incredibley dumb 4900.00 bucks a piece etc. just the tip of the iceberg. i won't waste my time on it. i call it the stupid bowl, only my opinion, to each his own though. if you like it...... enjoy.

It's 1am hear and the mad rush of biz jets have finally left, it was somewhat neat to see 5-10 jets per runway waiting (for Willow Run thats huge)

Also found out that the hotels near Willow Run were going for 400 per night, normal 85.

Home Depot was also empty for once, we even found an employee to help us with something.

Has anyone considered it would be kind of a waste to a have a fly-over over a "Domed" Stadium? Just Checking

The closest thing to a flyover were the local media going on ride-a-longs with the 107th FS from the Michigan Air Guard. Saw the local weather guy from Fox news in an F-16 doing mock intercepts with Coast Guard aircraft. Also saw another local news gal whipping of her oxygen mask after the the F-16 driver did a couple of steep banks (huublaahckk)
