Jack Fetterman to retire from museum foundation board
Retired Navy Vice Adm. Jack Fetterman, who is recovering from health problems, will step down as head of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation on March 22.
Fetterman, 73, chief of the National Museum of Naval Aviation's fundraising arm since 1993, said he wants to take it easy and spend more time with his wife, Nancy.
"Everyone said I need rest, rest, rest," Fetterman said. "But it's difficult to get rest when playing with all the challenges of the museum."
Retired Navy Capt. Charles Ellis, the foundation's deputy chief executive officer, will be acting president and CEO. Ellis said a decision on Fetterman's replacement could be made in May.
