This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I have been watching flickr.com and other locations for a while to learn where the Helldiver display is located at Udvar Hazy. A picture has finally turned up on Flickr that shows the Helldiver located next to the F-100 near the modern military aviation gallery. I am sure this is a temporary location but helps fill some empty space for the meantime.

Any idea when Flak Bait might make her way to the shop? We're planning a visit to Udvar-Hazy in early August..it'd be awesome if FB was there.

Great pics. Thanks
The Smithsonian channel had an TV program the other day that showed that F-100 being moved from Silver Hill and prepped for display at U-H.
The afterburner was stuck in the full open position, and the restoration guys tried like hell to close it so it would look correct for a parked F-100. They couldn't do it, so they sent it out to the floor as it is.
Now that's all I can see when I look at it!

Hmm. Looks like they need to contact Vulture's Row for the gear doors they are missing, or did some Helldivers operate with out them?

They did, but IMHO Helldivers look so much cooler with the wheel pants.

From what little research I've done on Helldivers it seems that quite a few of them operated without the lower doors. Kudos to the restoration team as this is one fine looking airplane!

And it is the only one on permanent display anywhere in the US!

Sure did come out nice... looks better than when I crawled over her at NAS Pensacola back in the early 90s.

Well done to the entire restoration team!
