Thanks to our friend Geoff Jones for the trip out there and for the report+picture.

The photo of the aircraft being rigged was taken at Duxford, not Audley End, and therefore would have been taken in 2012 (not 2013).

Thanks for the comment, I will check with Geoff as he took the picture and suggested the caption.

A photo was posted on TFC's website (October 2013) showing the Fiat at Audley End:

The photo in question is categorically taken at IWM Duxford, inside the TFC used T-2 hangar, and the unique AirSpace hangar front visible in the background. The source of the confusion is that the people working on (rigging) the CR-42 are the Vintage Fabrics crew (G'Day Clive!) who are based at Audley End.

This is correct. I have checked with the contributor and things got mixed up a bit.

I would surely help if the nice folks at Vintage Fabric and Duxford would actually reply to emails and return phone calls...

From their comments about confidentiality in the article it would seem to be very clear that they don't want the project publicised, which probably explains why you have not had any replies from either VF or TFC.

Mike I am not sure that is the issue considering that the work has been covered by several magazines both in the UK and Italy. Pictures were posted on the websites of the organizations involved ( AREA, GAVS, TFC, VF).

In any case i think a reply to an email or returning a phone call is simply the polite thing to do.
