Per request ... It's interesting that if you post a photo and suggest that a certain area be concentrated a lot of detail becomes exposed. These photos could be of interest in several different ways, but by suggesting to focus on the canopies you may see what I'm thinking. No complaints or anything, just noticed this:
About midway down, a picture marked as "P-40B, canopy with some known fella sitting in the cockpit".
The plane has stenciled on it: "langley field, Va, US Army P-36A, Air corps Serial no 38-102".
Great set of pictures!

Whoops! correct you are and correct I'm not (I actually knew that too) of course that's Charles Lindbergh sitting there

Don't know if the "P-38 canopy...What's the difference?" is rhetorical or not but I'll throw this in anyway.
One closes "right to left" the other closes "back to front".

The difference between early and late p-38s is the hinging of the top section.
Early ones hinged to the side, late were hinged at the rear.
