News outlets are reporting a Biplane crashed at Travis AFB during the Thunder Over Solano Airshow (I've refrained from posting any links).

Very sad to hear this today. He was a great guy. Prayers for his family.

Aside from the fact of the crash, no info. I infer that the result was not good.

It was Eddie Andrini who hit doing an inverted ribbon cut. RIP

I'm so sorry to hear this. :(

I've seen Mr. Andreini fly many times at the Redding Air Show; he was a heckuva flier.

My condolences to his family and friends.

RIP Eddie!

My condolences to his family and friends.

I heard in a report that it was his third try at the stunt when it happened. Wish he just gave up on it for the day.

Most of these performers take several runs at it to increase the "show factor". If I remember right, sometimes Eddie would make one pass up right, then a second pass inverted a little closer and the last one makes the ribbon cut.

Sac Bee report states it was "a few minutes" before the aircraft caught fire.

A/C sat burning. A video seems to show like 2 1/2 minutes until crews were rolling up and about another minute until suppression was started.
Something seemed to be out of whack there.
Seems crews should be on alert and in vehicles during the performance part of a show.
I know Military Performance Teams need that in the contract to perform.
Sad deal.

Ok. I'm confused here. I've scanned the usual news site and can't understand how the crash landing was fatal. There was video of Eddie landing in the inverted position that I can't seem to find again online. As mentioned early, there is no sense on urgency shown by the ground personnel. What am I missing?
