Seems like it, when I posted they had done it last night they were up to $35,200!

You are right, it looks like it has dipped back down. Strange, I guess some donors re-thought their contribution.
This chart showed a -$700+ this morning.

Looks like they made it, with around $4k more than they needed (minus the 5% fee that Kickstarter charges, plus up to 3% for each credit card transaction from Amazon). Even after fees they brought in more than $35k.
Can't wait to see that new wing spar

I hope some of us actually get to see this fly some day. That would be exciting........

Well, they are now a wing spar closer to that goal!

I got my gift (Coffee Mug) and a letter today.
I can't wait to see this P-61 in the air!

So is this a main wing spar? If so why put the plane together just to have to take it apart to put a new wingspar in. Just wondering.

This is for one of the outboard wings, not the spars that run through the center section. They'll still need to raise funds for the spar for and rebuild of the other outboard wing, as I understand it.

John, that is also how I understand it. I think the Kickstarter campaign was a great way to get that project moving forward. In my opinion it was a big step for the Museum to test the waters with internet funding and publicity.
I am looking forward to seeing the Black Widow at WWII Weekend in a few weeks.
