I saw the listing on Barnstormers, and based on the minimum bids they must intend to keep them.

Maybe that includes the factory they were built in? ;)

I believe those airplanes were all owned at one time by a company called Worldwide Warbirds, which was operating out of Chino but then left. The $185k Nanchang looks like the one they were promoting 10 years or so ago as being built to "ultimate spec"....400 hp M-14PF, MTV prop, "glass panel" avionics, etc. If so, the build cost at least was probably higher than $185k.

Barry Hancock posted on the Yak list that he had sold the airplane to the person in Addison who is having the planes auctioned, Worldwide Warbirds is not involved.

Sometimes build cost and value have little to do with each other.
