The main winding was of the normal lotus-o deltoid type placed in panendermic semi-bolloid slots of the stator. Every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremmy pipe to the differential girdle spring on the up-end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescent square motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with the drawn reciprocation dingle arm, to reduce sinusoidal depleneration.

You know of course that if anybody ever tried to "salvage" what's left (and it ain't much, that's for sure!) then all of sudden the Navy would pop up and say "it wasn't 'abandoned' - it's still belongs to us and it has just been very far down our list of priorities...."

Thanks for the link. I guess if someone wants to salvage a naval plane its not allowed but just leave it set and take souvenirs would be OK!

It already has been salvaged. All the things that make it a C-117 Super Gooney are missing. The square tail, long range wings, engines, etc. If the Navy hadn't stripped it, there would be more of the big items like the vertical fins and maybe engines. Would love to own a flyable one!

NEWS FLASH, NEWS FLASH!!! this just in....the remains of said airframe are currently in INDEFINITE COLD STORAGE and the property of the United States Navy. Any effort to strip or remove anything that the Department of the Navy has missed, will result in the full and merciless wrath of said Department of the Navy.
that is all.....resume normal operations.
