Need ID: TWA Connie "Star of China"?

Wed Feb 15, 2006 1:27 am

My dad took this shot of the TWA Constellation he flew in from Chicago to New York in April of 1956; the wording next to the door looks like "Star of China" with Chinese characters below it, but a net search hasn't turned up any info - can anyone identify it (N-number, history, etc.) for him?

Thanks!
P.S. Extra points if you can ID the airline of the DC-6 flying by...

:D Orale, Tulio! That was the key - searching seems to show that TWA flew it from 1947 to 1962 and then scrapped it. Oh well.
