The collection is neither deserted nor abandoned! People make assumptions just because the family wants privacy. Sure would be interesting to know who "allowed" Mr. Joo access to the property considering all the no trespassing signs.

Plus, he was there in summer and winter. Still, those are the first pictures I've seen of the inside of Walter's other B-25; looks pretty intact from here.

first artistic essay on the soplata collection that I can recall. i'm sure you all, like me, have saved about every soplata air and junk museum photo you've encountered (necessary details for my future 1/72 diorama). this set is way different. like being there. man, they gotta move to protect that border...um, I mean that property line. something needs to be done to secure or disperse that collection. too many people know now. the word's out. even chickens like me are thinking about infiltrating. if history has taught us anything, it's that people hungrily vandalize and steal from vintage warbirds! yeah, I thought B-25 #2 was sold and long gone...I could be wrong!

What is this world coming to, people no longer respect other peoples property and think they have the right to look at things because they want to.

Seems like he should spend some time in jail. It is people like this that ruin things for the majority of people that have respect for other people and their belongings. Lets not acknowledge his criminal activity.

Yes the B-25 is still there. I spoke with a family member today who stated the Soplata family has given no one access to the property or permission to take photos and that Mr. Joo was denied access but must have took it upon himself to trespass for the pictures. These are the words right from the family member, not mine. Its a shame that this situation plus a couple others have made the family more reclusive. Members of the immediate family has purchased the adjoining land to keep people from entering/ looting the collection. As far as Mr. Joo's claim that it was a wide open space, anyone who has been to the property knows there is only 1 road in/out and houses line both sides of the road. A fence also surrounds the property.Strong indications the law may be getting involved! The family reiterates that there will be nothing done with the collection for now.

Thanks for checking Cooper. I got the feeling based on that article that the photographer had trespassed. The "abandoned" statements in the article just did not add up.

I hope the law does get involved and gives the photographer a swift kick in the behind.

And like I said earlier, he was in there on at least two occasions months apart.

cooper9411, could you post this in the comments section on the original Daily Mail article? Might be a good idea to also contact the writer, Amanda Williams, to let her know this photographer is a trespasser and apparently a liar as well.

When was that? Do you recall who it was? I was there and given permission back in 2011 but since then a lot of things have taken place ( mostly by unscrupulous individuals) which has really offended the family. If I was able I would share some of the things that have happened but I gave my word that I would not disclose those things. I just may seek permission to post those things on WIX and if I'm able to, people probably would have a better understanding of the families situation. Avenger this is in no way aimed at you so please don't take it that way. Yes we all would love to see something good become of the collection but with all the things going on it just drags out the families decision.

avenger2504 I wrote my initial response based on the fact that Mr. Joo didn't use the "O" word. If he had talked to the owner of the property would he not have stated so? My comment stands, if this person, if there was one, didn't identify himself as the owner, apparently, so Mr. Joo should have stayed off the property end of story anything else is criminal in nature.

Cooper no offence taken at all. I would just be wary of naming and shaming someone and calling them a criminal without facts. No-one here was there at the time so cannot say what is and isn't illegal.
If he did trespass than by all means he should be told off.
Until then just enjoy the photos. I've known about this amazing collection and Walter (and his family) did a great service in saving these aircraft (with some returning to the skies.
