Wow, so some of Connie Edwards´planes are up for sale. :supz: I remember some years ago (maybe 3 or 4?) there were rumours the 2-seat Buchon were for sale, but it proved to be just such, rumours. I am very curious who might be the buyers. Hopefully some of the a/c´s will be returned to airworthy standard, and be flown.

Michael

BTW a 2-seat Bf 109 G-12 is under reconstruction at MeierMotors in Germany, though the canopy area of the HA-1112 M4L looks a lot more pleasant IMHO.

MH415 is awesome. A combat veteran AND movie star! Collings should jump on the dual control Buchon and add it to their ride program!

I wonder who has had these aircraft under wraps for such a long time?

'Connie' Edwards, as above.

These are a 'time capsule' opportunity, and though it's fair to say in a sense they are a 'barn find', they've been known of to those interested and Connie's friends (including a number of WIX members) so not something forgotten as some media will say.

What's interesting is that these are 45 year-old genuine, untouched Battle of Britain film colours. That's history too.

Lets just hope they go into good hands who appreciate them for what they are, as well as the 'Messerschmitt' angle. It would be great, and appropriate for one to end up with the Fundación Infante de Orleans (FIO) in Spain, for instance.

And credit to Connie for just laying them up (under cover) for so long.

Regards,

The news should keep the European vintage fora abuzz for months (Just look how long they keep chewing on the Burma Spitfires search)!

I think a flying Buchon or two in Spanish colors would be most excellent.

James, I think you hit the nail on the head. I'd love to see one or two preserved in its BoB paint as well as seeing one back in it's Spanish markings.

A P-51 from the same collection is also listed on Platinum as well.

Perhaps I need to set up a "GoFundMe" page to see if I can get 800K...

What an incredible opportunity, and I hope Jerry Yagen has already been on the phone with him!

Don't forget the Spitfire:

With the history of landing accidents, a Buchon deserves a grass runway. Geneseo?

Any word as to why Connie has decided to part ways with these now?

It would be neat if a group could buy the collection and restore them to BoB film stock and tour the airshow circuit similar to CAF and Tora Tora Tora.

Yes, but just to be clear, 'time capsule 1968'.

I fell off my chair when I saw it. Anyone know why he decided to sell them now? I'd so buy that 2-seater Buchon if I had the cash!!

I would guess that he is in his 70's/80's, his son passed away last year, and it's just time to move on with things.

He says his pilot son passed away recently and I am sorry to hear that. He implied that he was saving the planes for him.

Buchons were taken out of service in 1965, so it's still a time capsule, just not a WWII time capsule
