New Don Gentile/Johnny Godrey book ...

Sun Feb 19, 2006 12:46 pm

Hi guys,

Author Philip Kaplan (ONE LAST LOOK) advises me that his book on 'the boys' has been published. This one should be a goody since he was in contact with the family. At least one of Gentile's three sons (Joe) was an Air Force fighter pilot (an F-16 IP at one point). Johnny Godfrey's sons are still around last I heard, too, so hopefully there will be some bridging the generations covered as well since Philip specializes in the "Then and Now" format to his wonderful books.

All I know is my copy and all the other comp copies will be available in April - I assume an announcement on amazon.com is forthcoming.

Another son, Don Jr. flew F-4's in korea in about 79 I think.
Lost touch with him after I returned CONUS, but he was a heck of a good guy when I knew him back then. A bunch of us ( including Don ) went to the local aero club on Osan ab to get our private tickets.
