Gentlemen,
I've been working for quite awhile compiling lists of wrecked warbirds in and outside of the US along with which have been recovered. I am an absolute amateur compared to other wixers here but wanted to reach out to see if anyone would consider comparing notes with me.
I'm an avid warbird wreck hunter having checked out several in the Chesapeake bay region. All of which are in saltwater with poor visibility and have degraded to almost nothing. It's a rewarding hobby either way, I haven't found anything worth recovering for a museum but searching is half the fun.
If anyone would be willing to share what they have, please PM me. Thanks, JH

Have you seen/found the Martin Baltimore that is in the Chesapeake Bay? That's kind of on my "bucket list" of projects. Col. Rohr (who used to post here) and I have talked about joining forces to hunt down a Curtis A-3 Falcon that went down in the Bush River in the 1930s. You may not recognize the A-3 Falcon, but I'm sure you'd recognize the Navy version...the original Helldiver.
I have a list of some other interesting aircraft that are supposed to be in the Chesapeake and some of the tributaries. PM me if you'd like me to share that with you.
On dry land, there is an A-20 that went down in the Taneytown area in 1942. Again, another "bucket list" project as my focus has been on a B-57 site in Beallsville and a Capital Airlines DC-3 crash site in Clarksburg.

Sorry, The only wrecks I've checked out so far were the PBM Mariner in Talbot county and the wreck off of Pax's runway. They were easy to find without sonar.
